This Winter's Eve
Morae pranced happily among the huge trees around her as her hooves cracked small twigs and leaves in her way. She wasn't in the mood to be stealthy or watchful. She didn't much have mind for that this time of year. While the others were somewhat regretting their decision to move onto the riverside, she was embracing the season. She used her breed given ability to keep a bit warmer underneath her toasty, thick coat.
Though there was no snow to further enchant the atmosphere as she would have liked, she still took in the brilliance of the season. The gloriously crisp air, the scents, so different from those of any other time of year, and how much brighter the moon seemed to shine now that the chill had set in. She could see her breath in little wisps before her muzzle and smiled.
"Yes," she sighed as she went along, "I do love this time of the year."
