These are not always characters on the site, but rather people the average unicorn would have heard of, and what the average unicorn would have heard about them. They also probably have some influence or another.

The Five
Kurin- A Shaman and Magi, the leader of the largest Oreille herd in the regions. Known for his patience(or, some say, his lack of action) and his exquisite singing voice. Has 12 mares and over 20 foals. Is somewhere in his late 20s.
Sagen- The Chieftain of the largest Veleno herd, with 5 foals. Known for his courage and passion (or, some say, his temper). He is 23.
Mayai- High Priestess of the largest Rama herd. She leads worship toward Lijim. She has around 7 foals. Renowned for her pride (or arrogance?) and her piety. Is around 42.
Sajime- The Lady of the largest Pellame herd. She has no foals at the moment, and is looking for a mate. She is usually thought of as a flirt. She is the youngest of the five, about 8, but has already proven her wit and intrest in peace. Her father died about 2 years ago.
Tyron- He is king of the largest masse herd. He has an absurd number of foals by this point, but 3 by his Queen. He is 44, and is known for annexing several other herds to build his empire. All of these annexes were oddly peaceful, however.

Other Influential People
Jiji- the first mare of Kurin, she is the most active and vocal. She is well-known for speaking out on issues her mate sometimes will not talk about. she is about 24
Kein- the shoulder-commander of the largest Veleno herd. He is often seen as a brown-noser, but others say he's just loyal. He is about 22, and has 2 foals.
Halcyone- the queen of the largest masse herd. She is known for meeting with the leaders of whatever herd her mate plans to annex, and smoothing things over. She is around 43.

Messengers and Go-betweens
Jeil*- The messenger between The Ruins and Kurin, he was one of the scouting party. Before being messenger, he was a singer who had earned Jiji's favor... take that last part as you will. His exact age is unknown.
Sygn*- the messenger between The Ruins and Sagen. He was once a priest of Evereen, but the exact details of why he is no longer are unknown. rumors abound. His exact age is unknown, but he is possibly in his teens.
Mercia*- The messenger between The Ruins and Mayai. She was once a medic, and is known for often carrying out her duties despite her change in rank. She gained Mayai's favor by caring for the High Preistess' sick mother before she died. She is about 15.
Sky*- The messenger between The Ruins and Sajime. A former weather-watcher who became a favorite of Sajime, for his accuracy. Why he became a messenger is unknown, though there are rumors that his accuracy was not why Sajime was fond of him... he is around 10.
Vaschel*- The messenger between The Ruins and Tyron. An edge-walker who gained favor for his speed, it was only logical that he became messenger. He is often seen as a bully, however. He is around 17.

Important People in The Ruins
Arem°- The Chieftain of the Impavid herd, first herd in The Ruins. He is a mixed breed, though there is some debate over his exact heritage ((it's clearly Veleno and either Masse or Oreille.)) The layman would describe him as verbose, forceful, and a little cocky -- or proud, or arrogant. His age is not entirely clear at first glance; he is estimated to be anywhere between being in his single-digits to his late twenties, though most people would estimate he is at least ten.
